1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using LandedCity, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
2. Your responsibilities
• Provide truthful, accurate, and non-harmful content. • Do not impersonate other people or organisations. • Do not post content that is illegal, abusive, discriminatory, or violates the rights of others. • Do not use the platform to solicit money, advertise services not related to immigration guidance, or engage in commercial spam. • Do not attempt to circumvent security controls, rate limits, or moderation systems.
3. Mentor conduct
Mentors using LandedCity agree to: • Share only personal immigration experience — not legal, financial, or professional advice. • Disclose conflicts of interest or professional relationships. • Not solicit payments or personal contact outside of the platform's approved channels. • Not guarantee immigration outcomes, visa approvals, or legal results. LandedCity verifies that mentors are residents of their stated city but does not verify professional qualifications. Mentor accounts may be suspended if these rules are violated.
4. Not professional advice
All content on LandedCity — including mentor sessions, community posts, and guides — represents personal experience and community knowledge only. It is not legal, financial, immigration, or tax advice. You remain solely responsible for your decisions. Always consult a qualified professional for official guidance.
5. Mentor verification disclaimer
LandedCity verifies residency through document review, but does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of a mentor's advice. The platform facilitates peer connections only. LandedCity is not liable for outcomes resulting from mentor interactions.
6. Liability for off-platform interactions
LandedCity is not responsible for interactions, agreements, payments, or communications that take place outside of the platform. If you choose to contact a mentor through external channels, you do so at your own risk.
7. Intellectual property & uploaded content
• You retain ownership of content you submit (posts, reviews, documents). • By submitting content, you grant LandedCity a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and moderate that content on the platform. • Uploaded mentor verification documents are used solely for identity verification and are not shared publicly. • Do not upload content you do not have the right to share (e.g. copyrighted documents belonging to others).
8. Acceptable use
The following uses are prohibited: • Posting false immigration information that could mislead other users. • Harassment, hate speech, or targeting of individuals based on protected characteristics. • Scraping, automated data collection, or reverse engineering the platform. • Uploading malware, exploit code, or documents intended to harm other users or systems. • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent bans.
9. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice. Serious violations (fraud, abuse, illegal content) result in immediate suspension. We will notify you by email where practical.
10. Reporting abuse
You can report any mentor profile, post, or user via the "Report" button on their profile or content. You can also contact us at abuse@landedcity.com. We review all reports within 3 business days.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, LandedCity is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or €100 if no payment was made).
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in Amsterdam, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
13. Changes to these Terms
We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
